- She started Indian Institute of Yoga (Regd.) the Institute of Yoga Research Treatment and training in 1993 not only to combine allopathy and yoga therapy but also to revive this ancient science to the benefit of mankind.
- From 1993 she Had been Training Yoga For more Than 50000 People Across India and Foreign Countries Malaysia, Singapore and USA
- Dr Hema has been teaching yoga and yoga therapists. She has conducted more than 2000 workshops on yoga and meditation some of which were for corporate companies. She has trained more than 1000 yoga therapists.
- Organized 29th Yoga National Championship at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium from 25th to 28th November 2004. 700 People Participated from 25 states all over India.
- Represented India in the International Yoga therapy Conference at Singapore and Presented Paper on Yoga for Diabetes.
- Trained 5000 Students from Corporation Schools in Chennai for the Yoga Day Celebrations For the First Yoga Day and Received Matsyendra Award.
- Oranganised Conference on paleo Diet For 200 Doctors at Sri SathyaSai General Hospital Puttapathi AP.
- Started Yoga Therapy Department in Sri sathyaSai General Hospital Puttapathi AP And Trained 5000s of People with Problem for 3 years from 2016 to 2019
- Took training from eminent Gurus like Sankaracharya, Dr AS AshokKumar, BKS Iyengar, Sauntacruz yoga institute, Sivananda yoga centre, Sri shivarudra balayogi Dheradhun. Travelled wide and acquired an in depth scientific understanding of yoga and spirituality. Being a doctor, could do a lot of research on effects of yoga in the fields of Diabetes, Infertility, and easy Delivery supported by eminent doctors came out successfully, produced results and published books and VCDS on these three fields.
- Dr Hema has authored about 12 books on yoga (in English and Tamil). This has helped many people to learn yoga from remote areas of India.

- Her aim is to bring the beneficial aspects of Yoga to everyone in society and make Yoga a socially relevant science by using Scientific Research. Dr. Hemas Interest in Yoga since childhood, turned into passion when her own son's physical ailment was cured by Yoga Therapy.. Her dedication to yoga field and her life itself will be an inspiration to many to practice yoga.
